NBA Trades: 3-team trade would land Ben Simmons on Atlanta Hawks

***THE ACTUAL TRADE IS ON THE THIRD SLIDE***
The Atlanta Hawks began the retooling process earlier this offseason when they traded a boatload of first-round picks to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for star guard Dejounte Murray.
With Murray and Trae Young in the backcourt, they have set themselves up to bounce back from a disappointing season last year where they barely squeaked into the playoffs as the eighth seed.
Rumors have swirled that they could look to trade John Collins this summer, but Clint Capela has been thrown in some trade packages as well. They clearly want to shake things up.

Adding to the core of Young and Murray will be crucial to their future success, as both are still so young. The Hawks have done well thus far, but with little draft capital left, they’ll have to get creative in their attempt to compete.
As it stands, they have a good amount of depth. With guys like DeAndre Hunter, AJ Griffin, Onyeka Okongwu, and Bogdan Bogdanovic on the roster, they have a nice little squad.
But it’s clear that they aren’t satisfied. They are determined to put the best team possible around Young and Murray in an attempt to compete for a championship as soon as possible.
Sometimes, getting creative involves taking some risks. Trading for Ben Simmons would certainly be a risk, but if it panned out, the Hawks would be in an amazing position.
So, in this three-team deal, the Hawks would be acquiring Simmons and forming a new Big 3 in Atlanta.
