NBA Trades: 3 Kyle Kuzma trades to help the Washington Wizards: Minnesota Timberwolves

Wizards receive: D’Angelo Russell

Timberwolves receive: Kyle Kuzma, Monte Morris, Corey Kispert

This trade would help the Wizards land their starting point guard. Russell may have gotten a bad rep during the playoffs last year, but he’s still a star point guard in the NBA.

Pairing Russell with Beal in the backcourt would solidify Washington’s starting lineup. They could roll out a squad of Russell, Beal, Will Barton, Rui Hachimura, and Kristaps Porzingis.

That roster should be solid enough to compete for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, especially with guys like Deni Avdija, Delon Wright, and Daniel Gafford coming off the bench.

Meanwhile, on the other side of things, the Timberwolves would use this trade in an attempt to add depth to their squad. They traded away most of their depth in the deal that brought back big man Rudy Gobert.

In exchange for Russell, they would be getting two rotational players, as well as a young prospect who could eventually grow into someone that can contribute down the road.

Minnesota would be able to run with a starting lineup of Morris, Anthony Edwards, Kuzma, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Gobert. Or, if they wanted to downsize a bit, they could throw Kyle Anderson of Taurean Prince into the starting lineup instead of Kuzma and bring him off the bench.
