NBA Trades: 3-team trade lands Myles Turner on Los Angeles Lakers: Why the Wizards do it

Washington’s main focus this summer will be putting a competent team around star guard Bradley Beal. He just inked a massive contract extension that will keep him in Washington for the long run.

One of their primary goals so far this offseason has been to put a quality point guard alongside Beal. Brogdon would be a great option to take on that task.

Brogdon is a steady hand and a calming veteran presence on the floor. Outside of a down year this past season, he’s always been a consistent three-point shooter and above-average playmaker, as well as a plus defender.

The Wizards would also get a nice backup guard in Kendrick Nunn in this deal. In fact, this trade may even give them too much guard depth, but guys like Johnny Davis and Delon Wright can play the two as well.

Giving Kuzma would definitely hurt their scoring a bit, but they have plenty of frontcourt depth to make up for the loss. Players like Deni Avdija, Rui Hachimura, and Corey Kispert could get more minutes.

This deal would give Washington even more depth at the guard position, as they’ve begun to put together a sneakily solid team around Beal for next year.
