NBA Rumors: 4 teams that could steal John Wall from LA Clippers: 2. Philadelphia 76ers

Another potential landing spot for John Wall could be the Philadelphia 76ers. Following another disappointing postseason exit, the Sixers need to reshape the supporting cast around superstar Joel Embiid this offseason.

Wall’s athleticism and consistent playmaking ability on both ends of the floor would benefit Embiid and give the Sixers a more fast-paced gear, especially in transition. His presence would also allow James Harden to operate more off the ball like in his prime Houston days while decreasing his load as the main ball-handler.

Harden is likely to return to Philadelphia next season and a possible extension could be on the horizon as well, so a core of Harden, Wall, Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, and Embiid could be a threat in the Eastern Conference.

Wall doesn’t have the best relationship with James Harden from their extremely short stint with the Rockets together and may not be willing to absorb a role that involves sharing duties as the main ball-handler, but the Sixers could convince him otherwise.

If John Wall becomes intrigued by Philly, the Philadelphia 76ers could offer him the full $6.5 million taxpayer midlevel exception that he’s likely seeking as they try to land another crucial asset in their hunt to compete for the ultimate prize.
