NBA Trades: 2 Michael Porter Jr. trades for the Denver Nuggets to consider: Washington Wizards
Nuggets receive: Bradley Beal
Wizards receive: Michael Porter Jr., Bones Hyland, Pick #30
When Bradley Beal eventually declines his player option, he will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. This would allow the Nuggets to make a sign-and-trade for the All-Star guard.
Beal is quite simply a professional scorer. Putting him next to Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic in Denver’s offense would make them a very dangerous Big 3.
He has reportedly made his decision about where he will be playing next season, and it’s unlikely to be Denver, but if the Nuggets did manage to pull this trade off, they would instantly become a favorite in the West.
On the flip side, the Washington Wizards would be getting two young stars in exchange for their All-Star. Michael Porter Jr. is obviously a risk, but Bones Hyland could come in and play big-time minutes for them.
Denver would likely prefer to keep onto Hyland in this deal, but if the Wizards play hard ball (which they almost certainly would in a Beal trade), the Nuggets’ hand may be forced.
But regardless, adding a player of Beal’s caliber would completely change the outlook of this Nuggets squad. They would immediately become title contenders.
