NBA Trades: 3 Tobias Harris trades for the Philadelphia 76ers to consider: Atlanta Hawks

76ers receive: John Collins, Danilo Gallinari

Hawks receive: Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, #23 Pick

This trade might seem a bit odd at first, but it could actually help both teams accomplish a goal. The Philadelphia 76ers would get a younger, more athletic power forward, while the Atlanta Hawks would add a defensive-minded guard to pair with Trae Young.

Atlanta has supposedly been considering trading John Collins for a while now, and while they’d probably rather trade him in a blockbuster deal, this wouldn’t be bad either.

While Tobias Harris is definitely overpaid, he’s not a bad player by any means. He could give the Hawks a solid secondary scoring option next to Young at the power forward position.

In addition, pairing the offensive-minded Young with the defensive-minded Matisse Thybulle would be a great pairing. Sure, Thybulle doesn’t bring much (if anything) on the offensive end, but the Hawks already have an elite offense.

The Hawks would also get to ditch the Danilo Gallinari contract in this deal while staying around the same salary level and also adding a first-round pick.

For the 76ers, this is their opportunity to dump Harris’ contract while also picking up a solid player in the process. This could potentially be a win-win deal for both sides.
