5 roster moves the Denver Nuggets need to make this offseason: 5. Extend Nikola Jokic

While this move appears to be one of the most obvious moves across the entire league right now, the Nuggets still have to get it done. One benefit for the team is that Jokic is very open to signing a supermax. Apart from the money side of it, Jokic is the main reason the Nuggets are a relevant force in the league right now.

As mentioned earlier, Jokic responded to the Nuggets’ challenges by producing a second straight MVP season. His ability to run the offense for the Nuggets including his passing ability is going to see Jokic go down as one of the best centers to ever play the game.

The Nuggets have the chance to keep themselves relevant almost to the end of the decade which is becoming harder to do in the NBA these days. They have Murray signed through until the end of the 2025 season, Aaron Gordon until the end of the 2026 season and Porter signed through until the end of the 2027 season.

If they sign Jokic for the full five years that the supermax allows then he will be contracted to the Nuggets until the end of the 2028 season. This would be a tremendous outcome for the franchise and potentially bring the first NBA championship to Denver.
