Offseason roster moves the Chicago Bulls need to make: 5. Offer Zach LaVine a max contract

To put it simply, LaVine is a special player that a team can build around. He has proven that he can play with another star. His combination with DeRozan is one of the hardest ones to stop in the NBA right now. The fact he was able to average fewer points per game than DeRozan and there were no grumblings out of Chicago speaks volumes about LaVine.

This is a young man who wants to win, despite not being the highest-scoring player on the team. This means that he puts results above personal glory. His case for a max deal was not hurt by DeRozan coming out and saying that he deserves to be offered everything that the Bulls can give him.

If the Bulls can sign LaVine for a full five years, they will have a core of sorts for the foreseeable future. Ball and Caruso are both signed through until the end of 2025. DeRozan and Williams are also signed through until the end of 2024.

With LaVine and DeRozan in the lineup, the Bulls are going to be successful for a number of seasons. This is the perfect opportunity for the Bulls to keep themselves relevant in the NBA for most of the current decade.
