5 roster moves the Brooklyn Nets need to make this offseason: 5. Trade Kyrie Irving

The Nets have been the team who has taken on disgruntled stars via trade in the last two seasons. They first took on Harden in an effort to push them to the top of the Eastern Conference.

Then, in this past season, they moved on from Harden, who seemed to be frustrated again. They received Simmons, who has a good chance of making Irving redundant, and while he may not have Irving’s shooting ability but he more than makes up for it with his other attributes.

The Irving vaccination saga was an incredible distraction, and while he is entitled to his own opinion, the goal of an NBA team is to win the championship. Irving has been too much of a distraction over his time, not only with the Nets, but with other teams as well.

Brooklyn may find it hard to move him, but there is always the chance that a team who is not contending will take his salary on, given that he is in the final season of his deal. This may be the best the Nets can hope for given that he could be seen as a disruptive influence. This could be a case of addition by subtraction for the Nets.
