5 roster moves the LA Clippers need to make this offseason: 3. Pick up Terance Mann’s team option

In his third season with the Clippers, the emergence of Terance Mann has been a feel-good story. Without Leonard and George, the Clippers have needed their role players to step up and this is what Mann did, starting 33 of the 81 games that he played.

He averaged 10.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 0.7 steals in 28.6 minutes per game. While his shooting percentages were down last season, Mann still had four games where he scored 20 points or more and ten games where he had five or more assists. This is not a bad return for the 48th pick in the 2019 NBA draft.

Mann has shown development in every season that he has been in the league, increasing his averages in almost every statistical category year upon year. Given that the Clippers have so much money tied up in salary next season, getting Mann’s production at $2.9 million is going to be incredibly important for this team.

The Clippers would appear to have every intention of picking up Mann’s option, having signed him to a two-year, $22 million deal commencing in the 2023-24 season. If he can continue to develop in the way that he has over the first three seasons of his career, this will be a really good contract moving forward.
