NBA Trades: 5 trade suitors for Malcolm Brogdon and the Indiana Pacers: Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks could be preparing for a major shakeup within the roster this offseason and acquiring Malcolm Brogdon could be a step in the process of their summer plans. Following the first-round postseason exit, the Hawks are expected to make significant changes heading into next season.

Outside of rising superstar Trae Young, anyone on Atlanta could be available for trade. After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, which was likely this core’s ceiling, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to attempt to switch it up.

The Hawks could use another reliable ball-handler to take some of the load off of Trae Young offensively, and Brogdon would certainly fit into that description. While Brogdon excels as a playmaker and facilitator with the ball in his hands, he can thrive off the ball as well.

The veteran guard can space the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat and create easy buckets with off-ball movement as a cutter. To begin his career, Brogdon flourished on and off the ball with the Milwaukee Bucks.

As a result, Brogdon could provide similar value to the Hawks and efficiently co-exist alongside Young in the backcourt. If Atlanta wants to reconstruct the roster this offseason, which should be the plan, Malcolm Brogdon would be a strong trade candidate to pursue.
