3 landing spots for Miles Bridges that aren’t the Charlotte Hornets: Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers just promoted Joe Cronin, making him their full-time GM. In doing so, they’ve made it clear that their plan is to build around Damian Lillard moving forward.

This means making trades, drafting well, and attacking the free agency market. Since there aren’t many great unrestricted free agents set to be available, throwing money at restricted free agents could be smart.

Aside from Deandre Ayton, Miles Bridges would be the best restricted free agent the Blazers could attempt to sign. And with how weird of a place the organization is in right now, he’s the perfect candidate.

Portland is stuck in NBA purgatory. They aren’t quite good enough to be a contender, but at full health, they also aren’t bad enough to earn a top pick in the draft.

By signing Bridges, Portland would give Lillard a talented, young co-star to help him push towards the playoffs. However, if everything goes downhill, Bridges would also act as a quality building block for the future.

If the Blazers wanted to compete for a championship, they would have to add a free agent (like Bridges) and also trade for another star player. But as mentioned, Bridges would be the perfect player to help bridge the gap. (No pun intended.)
