Offseason roster moves the Washington Wizards need to make: 3. Guarantee Ish  Smith

The Washington Wizards and Ish Smith seem to work so well with each other. Smith spent two seasons with the franchise prior to the start of the season. He chose to head to Charlotte, where he signed a multi-year deal.

The problem for Smith was that the second season of the deal is not fully guaranteed. Given the fact that Charlotte has had so many injury concerns, this was probably quite a wise move.

However, the Wizards are a different franchise, and they will want to use Smith. He has an incredible amount of experience in the NBA, having played for 11 seasons now, and performing on a different level in the nation’s capital. He averaged 8.6 points, 5.2 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 22.0 minutes per game with the Wizards.

Now that the Wizards have added Porzingis to the roster, Smith can use his strength of attacking the hoop, combined with his speed, to kick the ball out to another quality three-point shooter. This is only going to benefit the Wizards in their quest to make the playoffs.
