NBA Trades: 3 Rudy Gobert trades for the Utah Jazz this offseason
For the past year, Donovan Mitchell’s and Rudy Gobert’s strained relationship has been the worst-kept secret in the NBA. Many have voiced the need to split the duo up, and those voices are only going to grow louder after another disappointing early exit from the playoffs.
On paper, the Utah Jazz are supposed to be one of the best teams in the league and a perennial contender for years to come, led by their young guard star Mitchell and their three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner.
The Jazz went all-in on their two stars, trading for Mike Conley and singing Bojan Bogdanovic in the 2019 offseason. Despite this commitment, the team’s on-court results have left much to be desired.

What was constructed to be a contending team has not been able to get out of the second round of the playoffs. Adding insult to injury, the losses have come in humiliating fashion.
Whether it was blowing a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets in The Bubble, blowing a 2-0 lead to the LA Clippers, with Kawhi missing the last two games, or losing to the Dallas Mavericks with Luka missing the first three games of the series. The Jazz have fallen flat on their face time and time again.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. This is why Utah’s front office would be utterly insane to run it back next year with the same roster and expect things to be different this time.
The easiest way to spearhead a roster shake-up is by trading Rudy Gobert. Gobert may be the best to ever do what he does best, but he has some glaring holes in his game. Mitchell is clearly the face of the franchise and the cornerstone of the team, which leaves Gobert as the most logical piece to be moved. Here are three trade ideas the Jazz could entertain this offseason.
