Donovan Mitchell made a special debut in this season’s playoffs – and not just because of his game-high 32 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists in the Utah Jazz win.

Mitchell debuted a preview of the Adidas Basketball X D.O.N. Issue #4 sneaker during the game, the first public appearance of the shoe.

Per Adidas, the D.O.N. Issue #4 is one of the lightest and most advanced Adidas Basketball shoes to date, “mirroring Mitchell’s electrifying career and commitment to Domination Over Negativity,” according to a brand spokesperson. Domination Over Negativity is the acronym for which the sneaker gets its name, along with the star’s first name.

The fourth edition in the D.O.N. franchise is set to be available this Fall.

Mitchell’s first signature shoe debuted in June 2019, just after the guard’s second season in the NBA came to a conclusion. The second issue came in August of 2020.

Mitchell debuted Issue #3 of the D.O.N. sneaker in the first round of last year’s playoffs, and the star has done that once again with Issue #4 as the Jazz look to make a run to the NBA Finals.

The 25-year-old wore an all-white colorway of the sneaker on Saturday’s playoff-opener, though Adidas has yet to confirm how many color options there will be for Issue #4.

Adidas directs those seeking more info on what it calls “the lightest and most advanced basketball shoe from the brand to date” to check out www.adidas.com/basketball or search social media for #DONISSUE4.
