Roster moves the Detroit Pistons need to make this offseason: 5. Sign Donte DiVincenzo

While it may seem a little different for the Pistons to sign Donte DiVincenzo, they have plenty of cap space to play with. DiVincenzo was traded to the Sacramento Kings in the same four-team trade that bought Bagley to the Pistons.

Now, he will be a restricted free agent and he was reportedly unhappy with the way that the Kings used him down the stretch. This may have been in an effort to lower interest in the four-year NBA veteran.

DiVincenzo spent the first three and a half seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he was part of the 2021 NBA Championship team. While it was Giannis Antetokounmpo who deservedly took the accolades for the championship, the play of players like DiVincenzo was crucial to the Bucks’ success.

If the Pistons can sign DiVincenzo, then they’d be bringing a solid 3&D player into the fold who has championship experience. At the age of 25, DiVincenzo is a good fit for this team in terms of age and can help to develop some of the even younger players, too. Given how they played at the end of the season, they are not far off becoming a playoff team.
