NBA Draft: Drew Timme improving stock in March Madness – Teams

After looking briefly at some of the pros and cons of Drew Timme, there are definitely some teams that could stand to take a look at him when the NBA Draft comes around.

He’s a 6’10” power forward/center who can score at will in the post and has been one of the most prolific college basketball players for the last two seasons. His resume alone is enough to earn him a shot on an NBA roster.

The first team that stands out is the Oklahoma City Thunder. They don’t really have an answer at the center position right now, so taking a look at someone with as much basketball knowledge as Timme could be worth it.

As mentioned, Timme isn’t an elite defender and he may never be, but he can definitely score in the post. Giving them a different scoring option somewhere else on the floor would be interesting, and could potentially take some of the load off of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Plus, Timme would give Josh Giddey a great big man to feed in the post. Timme would be a perfect low-risk, high-reward option for the Thunder in the second round.

Other teams include the Portland Trail Blazers (who could look to rebuild soon), the Indiana Pacers (who could use a better post scorer), and the Houston Rockets (who are simply in a long-winded rebuild).
