3 teams that should sign Mitchell Robinson this offseason: Toronto Raptors

After a down year in 2021, the Toronto Raptors are primed to be back in the play-in this season. And while it’s not guaranteed that they’ll make the playoffs, most would agree that their chances are pretty good.

They have an All-Star point guard in Fred VanVleet, an All-Star forward in Pascal Siakam, and a great young core that includes Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby, and Scottie Barnes.

While they may be a long, lengthy group, the one thing they are desperately missing is a tall big man to hold things down in the paint on the defensive side of the ball.

At the trade deadline this year, it was rumored that they were attempting to trade for big men like Jakob Poeltl and Robert Williams. It’s fair to say that Robinson fits under that same archetype of big man.

Right now, the tallest player on the Raptors is 6’9”. Robinson would give Nick Nurse a true seven-footer to play with on both sides of the floor, something that would definitely help them in all areas.

He would fit in great with their young core, shoring things up on defense and, as mentioned with the previous two examples, acting as a lob threat on offense. Toronto should make a serious push for Robinson this summer.
