2022 NBA Offseason: Predicting 3 potential NBA trades: Buddy Hield

Timberwolves receive: Buddy Hield, TJ McConnell

Pacers receive: Malik Beasley, Josh Okogie, Jordan McLaughlin

The Minnesota Timberwolves have improved a ton this season, as they are a legitimate playoff team for the first time in a long time. (Outside of the one Jimmy Butler season.)

However, as they look to compete and improve moving forward, adding more consistent players around their core should be their goal. This trade does just that for them.

While Buddy Hield may be a bit older and a bit more expensive than Malik Beasley, he’s also proven to be a much more dependable shooter. Having him next to Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell would give them an elite shooter to kick out to.

As for TJ McConnell, he would give them a too-tier backup point guard. McConnell has proven to be one of the best playmakers in the league and is a menace in the passing lanes.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers would continue their rebuild, getting a bit younger and shedding Hield’s salary. Malik Beasley is a younger, less proven version of Hield who could play alongside Tyrese Haliburton.

They’d also get a chance to take a look at Josh Okogie, a decent young defender, while point guard Jordan McLaughlin would be thrown in mainly for salary-matching purposes.
