At the beginning of the season, the Golden State Warriors were the best team in the NBA. They got hot from the jump, and a lot of people began to claim that they were on their way to another championship.

Stephen Curry broke the all-time three-pointers record and everything seemed great for Golden State. But lately, they’ve come down from that early-season high.

The Warriors are 2-8 in their last ten games and the Memphis Grizzlies are now currently tied with them for second place in the Western Conference.

But as they continue to struggle night after night, they have to remember that their so-called knight in shining armor could be making his way back to the court very, very soon.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Draymond Green could be returning to the court in 7-10 days. He’s been out with a back injury since January 11.

With Green in the lineup this season, the Warriors are 28-6. That means without him they have gone 15-15 this season. For those counting at home, over the course of a full season, that would equate to roughly a 68-win season vs. a 41-win season.

That’s an absolutely ridiculous difference that one player can make. Since January 11 alone, the Warriors are 13-12. They are missing Green in a big, big way.

He was having an All-Star-caliber season before getting injured and was rewarded as such with a place in the All-Star Game. Green didn’t participate, obviously, but the nomination alone shows just how great he’s been for the Warriors this year.

The real question is, though, can he help them save their season. Right now, the Warriors are sliding in the worst way, and their title hopes are seemingly diminishing by the second.

Can Green help them get back on track and keep their title hopes alive? Only time will tell, but with how well they play with him in the lineup, there’s a good chance he might be the missing piece.
