The New York Knicks have been struggling mightily this season. Julius Randle has regressed a ton, Kemba Walker is no longer with the team, and most of the veterans on the roster aren’t producing at the level they were expected to.

As the season begins to draw to a close, it’s becoming more and more clear that the Knicks are not going to be a playoff team this year. It’s looking like they’ll probably even miss the play-in.

Randle was an All-NBA player last year, but this season, he’s playing like the guy most general NBA fans expected him to be. But it’s worse than that because the Knicks already extended him.

Walker isn’t traveling with the team anymore as he prepares for next season on his own, and Alec Burks has quickly become a player Knicks fans have come to hate.

RJ Barrett is the obvious bright spot on the roster, with youngsters like Obi Toppin, Cam Reddish, and Immanuel Quickley not far behind him. But if Tom Thibodeau doesn’t play them, then how are they ever going to improve?

So, as Knicks fans swallow their pride and admit that it’s not their year, there should be one thing on their minds right now – free agency. Who can they grab this offseason?

New York isn’t projected to have a ton of cap space, but if they can make some trades and move some salary, it could open up opportunities. If they do that, who are five dream targets for them this summer?
