Given the emotional rollercoaster that the vast majority of us New York Knicks fans are going through at the moment, perhaps it’s best if we just stop talking about this year’s campaign and focus on some more pleasant topics.

Think about it. We could spend some time talking about how the Knicks are currently 25-35 (before Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers) and sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference, or we could analyze the possibility of a 17-year-old playing for the Knicks in the near future.

The 17-year-old in question is none other than Bronny James, son of semi-famous basketball player LeBron James. He is going to be eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft and the rumors are already flying in regard to the point guard from Sierra Canyon, with his father igniting the fire.

Bronny’s name has been tossed around the news countless times in the past seven or eight years. He even received college consideration whilst in elementary school, something that LeBron has spoken very strongly against.

But, here we are. The years have passed and Bronny is rapidly approaching the reality of everything we already knew. Soon enough, college scholarships are going to be flying in, with Kentucky already beating everyone to the race so far.

The New York Knicks could absolutely use this chaotic media barrage to their advantage and add some firepower to their team in LeBron James and Bronny

Okay, so Bronny is set to enter the league in the very near future. What exactly does this have to do with the New York Knicks?

Recently, in an interview during the All-Star Weekend, LeBron stated his intention to join whichever team selects his son in the 2023 NBA Draft. He hopes to end his illustrious NBA career by teaming up with Bronny in his final year in the league, or maybe even more.

It’s fair to say that a statement such as this one was all it took to skyrocket Bronny’s draft stock. The team that ends up selecting him will not only receive a young prodigy but also (arguably) the greatest player to ever lace ’em up.

After receiving checks left and right, LeBron said that money will not be an issue for his decision. He has made a plethora of business moves during these past two decades and is prepared to accept a smaller, team-friendly deal so that he can make it work even in the tightest situation financially-wise.

After joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, a move to the New York Knicks could be the perfect way for LeBron to end his career. The King is a big-market player, and it really doesn’t get any bigger than New York around the world.

LeBron previously stated that he enjoys playing in Madison Square Garden more than anywhere else. He has also flirted with the idea of being a Knick, though things never really went as planned.

It is quite possible that his shaky relationship with James Dolan is the main reason behind all the failed attempts of acquiring James’ signature. Luckily, Dolan has been away from the spotlight for quite some time now, and James could possibly reconsider.

From a New York Knicks standpoint, you can’t really make any sort of case against this scenario. Bronny will not be a top pick in the draft, even with all the “bonuses” of having him on your team. However, he remains a very good player who lets his talent do the talking, and not his name.

A 39-year-old LeBron James will still be the best player on this Knicks team, and could even find the switch that completely transforms RJ Barrett into the superstar everybody knows he can be in the future.

Maybe messing with the team’s rebuild isn’t the wisest way to go right now. But then again, the Knicks are a laughingstock and changes need to be made, however extreme they may be.

Bringing LeBron James to New York is long overdue, and Bronny could even end up being the point guard the Knicks have been looking for all these years.
