3 changes the New York Knicks can make to save the season: Sign Tyreke Evans

New York’s offseason moves didn’t quite go according to plan. It seems that they tried fixing some of those mistakes prior to the 2022 trade deadline, though no moves were ultimately made.

Maybe it’s time to shift their focus elsewhere. Based on recent news, Tyreke Evans could be a viable option for the Knicks.

A few days ago, Evans was reinstated by the NBA, following a two-year absence due to him violating the league’s anti-drug rules. After this break from action, he is now officially a free agent and able to negotiate with any team.

Despite his absence, Evans created a name for himself throughout his decade-long NBA career. He won Rookie of the Year in 2010 and holds a career average of 15.7 points per game.

Since Kemba Walker and Alec Burks have been playing well below expectations thus far, bringing in a certified scorer could be great for the team. Evans doesn’t have to be the main option like he’s been in the past, and could contribute a great deal off the bench.

Apart from Evans, it is extremely likely that we see many names pop up in free agency in the following weeks, as most buyouts tend to happen right after the trade deadline.
