Boy has this been a rollercoaster of a season for us New York Knicks fans. You know, one of those rollercoasters that goes down and then keeps going down… and down… and down.

After making some quality offseason moves, the Knicks started off the season 5-1 and basically announced to the entire league that last season’s triumph was not just a fluke. What followed was an abysmal stretch of games that lasted until… well to be fair, it’s still ongoing.

As things stand, the team is well below .500 and is comfortably holding onto the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 25-34.

It should come as no surprise that the Knicks need to make some changes. Unfortunately, it is quite hard to put your finger on what’s wrong with this team. Is it the players, is it the coaching, or is it pretty much everything?

Things just aren’t working out for the New York Knicks, and change is definitely overdue in basically every area of the team

The answer most likely lies somewhere between the aforementioned. Julius Randle, the star of the team and last season’s winner of the Most Improved Player award, has plummeted in his productivity on the court.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau, who brought even more silverware to the team by being named as the Coach of the Year in 2020-21, seems to have lost all those great qualities that he displayed last season, ultimately leading the team to the fourth-seed in the East.

Luckily for the Knicks, all hope is not yet lost. There’s still time to try and catch up to the play-in teams. Being just a few games behind playoff contention means a final push might just be enough to salvage this disastrous season. But what are some moves that could help them?
