4 NBA superstars who request a trade this offseason – Russell Westbrook

Not many players, let alone superstars, have had a tougher season than Russell Westbrook. The triple-double king has struggled in Los Angeles and was in his fair share of trade rumors at the deadline.

The Los Angeles Lakers ended up holding on to him, but there’s a good chance the trade rumors heat up again after the playoffs. Given Westbrook’s lackluster fit next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the team would be silly not to at least do their due diligence.

From the player’s perspective, Westbrook could desire to headline a team once more. After sharing duties with James Harden then Bradley Beal, the ball-dominant guard is essentially a third wheel in L.A.

If he wants to go somewhere that he can be the unquestioned number-one option again and put up all the counting stats his heart desires, a change in scenery is needed. Certainly, a few teams would be happy to take on his contract, if only in the name of jersey and ticket sales.

Westbrook has been on three teams in the last three years and could look to make that four over the last four next season.
