3 targets for the Phoenix Suns after the Chris Paul injury – Quinn Cook

Quinn Cook has yet to appear in the NBA this season, but just last year he played 23 games with two different teams – the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Obviously, Cook won’t be able to replicate the passing of Chris Paul, and there aren’t any guards on the market that will be able to do that. But he does bring something else to the table – shooting.

Over the course of his career, Cook is a 40.8 percent three-point shooter. Last season, in the 23 games he played, Cook shot 42.3 percent from behind the arc.

The 28-year-old guard is most known for his time with the Golden State Warriors, where he won two rings. Although he didn’t play a super huge role in the postseason, he was a part of their regular-season rotation.

If the Suns were to sign Cook, they could delegate most of the playmaking duties to Devin Booker, thus allowing Cook to thrive in the off-ball role he’s been known for.

Simply bolstering the guard rotation should be the goal for the Suns, as they will never be able to find someone that can bring what Paul brings to the court.

By signing Cook, they would be getting a guy who can shoot the ball at an elite clip. Outside of Booker and Landry Shamet, he would instantly become the best shooter in Phoenix’s backcourt.
