3 reasons the Philadelphia 76ers won’t win the NBA championship: Competition
If it hasn’t become obvious already, the Eastern Conference is absolutely stacked this year. There’s no team in the top eight that’s going to be an easy out when the playoffs come around. Let’s briefly go down the list.
The Miami Heat are the real deal. They’re the type of team that can beat you no matter who they have playing that night, and Erik Spoelstra might just be the best in the business.
Then there’s the Chicago Bulls. They have been slipping as of late, but once they get their defensive-minded backcourt back, they should be revved up and ready to go for the postseason.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks need to be mentioned, for obvious reasons. The reigning champs are still one of the favorites to come out of the East.
Then there’s the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, and Boston Celtics. Oh yeah, and the Brooklyn Nets once they get fully healthy and ready to rumble.
Plus, even if the Sixers make it out of the East, the Western Conference has some top-tier teams, too. Just look at the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Memphis Grizzlies.
There’s no easy road to victory for the 76ers this season. In fact, this postseason is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory.
