Now that the NBA trade deadline has come and gone, everyone’s eyes have turned to one thing – the playoffs. Sure, the buyout market is fun, but the real hype comes when the playoffs roll around.

One of the biggest stories of the deadline was the Philadelphia 76ers acquiring James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Ben Simmons.

A lot of people think that this trade will put the Sixers in the upper echelon of title contenders. Joel Embiid is playing at an MVP level and adding Harden should create one of, if not the best duo in the NBA.

But in reality, while this trade may help the 76ers a bit, it does not make them favorites to win the NBA title. Not even close. Here are three reasons why.

3 reasons the Philadelphia 76ers won’t win the NBA championship: Egos

Let’s be completely honest here, when it comes to large personalities, these are two of the biggest in the business. This is Embiid and Harden we’re talking about here.

Embiid is one of the most dynamic players in the league and is never afraid to speak his mind. If he has a problem with something or someone, he’ll let you know about it.

And then there’s Harden, who just requested to be traded from his second team in less than two seasons. There’s bound to be some sort of drama from his side of things.

There’s no guarantee that this pairing works, and their large personalities are a big part of that. If any little thing goes wrong, expect there to be fireworks.
