February 10 is getting closer and closer, with the deadline only three days away at this point. NBA trade deadline rumors are piling up at an alarming rate, so why not do a quick recap of some of the most recent ones?
NBA Trade Deadline Rumors: Detroit Pistons interested in Mitchell Robinson
According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Detroit Pistons are showing interest in New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, who’s in the last year of his rookie contract. (H/T Bleacher Report)
Detroit wants to pair Robinson with rookie point guard Cade Cunningham. As of now, Isaiah Stewart is the only formidable center in the Pistons’ young core.
Robinson’s freakish athleticism and efficient shooting would provide a nice dynamic to Detroit’s young, up-and-coming roster. They could put forth an interesting roster ahead of the deadline.
NBA Trade Deadline Rumors: Pelicans making Josh Hart available in trade talks
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN and the Hoop Collective podcast, the New Orleans Pelicans are making wing Josh Hart available in trade talks. (H/T Bleacher Report)
Windhorst also added an interesting tidbit about teams the Pelicans have spoken to, and the players involved in those potential deals – Atlanta’s Kevin Huerter, Portland’s CJ McCollum, Houston’s Eric Gordon, and Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox.
Hart would be a nice glue guy on any team, as he’s proven to be a valuable two-way player on the wing who can defend multiple positions and shoot decently well from range.
NBA Trade Deadline Rumors: Trail Blazers expected to trade CJ McCollum
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, many NBA executives around the league expect the Portland Trail Blazers to trade guard CJ McCollum by the trade deadline. (H/T Bleacher Report)
Scotto said that the Blazers plan to make the move, in addition to the recent trading of Norman Powell, in an attempt to reshape their roster around superstar Damian Lillard.
McCollum will not be easy to trade, as he makes around $30 million this season, but that being said, there will surely be suitors for the veteran guard.
