NBA Trades: 3 potential James Harden for Ben Simmons trade packages
NBA Trades: 3 potential Simmons-Harden trade packages – No. 3
The Brooklyn Nets would most likely prefer shooting guard Seth Curry as one of the add-ons in a Ben Simmons package for James Harden, but if the 76ers decide to refuse that idea, then Danny Green would become another role player that could be included in the framework.
Green has been inconsistent, for the most part, but the three-time NBA Champion is shooting 39.6 percent from three-point territory this season. His contributions to the Nets would be championship experience, another threat from beyond the arc, and perimeter defense.
Simmons and Green for Harden would make the money work, so if Brooklyn wanted another player from Philly, they would have to accept going even deeper into the luxury tax than they already are. It seems more likely that they would request first-round picks or more draft compensation in this scenario, instead.
Although, the Nets could ask for some of the other young prospects that such as Isaiah Joe, Paul Reed, and Charles Bassey. Shake Milton is another guy that could attract interest, but the productive guard has been sidelined due to a back injury for over a month.
It’s important to note that the Nets have the leverage when discussing a deal with Philly since the Sixers are desperately looking to move Simmons for a superstar caliber player like Harden as soon as possible. Brooklyn could just wait until the summer if there isn’t an offer that excites them enough, so there’s really not as much urgency for the Nets as there is for the Sixers.
All-in-all, these are all possible Ben Simmons for James Harden trade packages between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers that would ultimately shift the power atop the Eastern Conference moving forward. All eyes will be on the drama-filled situation as Thursday’s trade deadline looms.
