NBA Trades: 5 potential trade targets for the Cavaliers – Eric Gordon

Secondly, Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon could emerge as a trade target for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Gordon is a veteran sharpshooter and solid defender that’s also on the open market and available for the right price. Houston is in the midst of a rebuild and they’re reportedly seeking a first-round pick in exchange for the experienced competitor.

Cleveland should be in the market for a shooting guard or wing following the loss of both Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio, so pursuing Eric Gordon would certainly make sense. He’s a proven scorer, efficient shooter, and would be an integral veteran presence to this youthful Cavs roster.

Gordon is averaging 14.6 points per game on 50.0 percent shooting from the floor and 44.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc this season.

He’s owed $18.2 million this season, so if the Cavaliers are willing to attach a first-round pick that the Rockets are requesting with a salary filler like Rubio’s contract, Houston would most likely accept that offer.

Evidently, Eric Gordon should be a top target for the Cleveland Cavaliers based on his experience, efficient impact, strong fit, and availability leading up to the deadline.
