Week 14 NBA Rookie Ladder: Normalcy balances the rankings at long last
By Corey Rausch
Week 14 NBA Rookie Ladder: 2. Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons
15.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals
Shooting splits: .402/.322/.848
Cade Cunningham’s only current problem is that the first month of the season dug him a hole to climb out of against Evan Mobley. In recent weeks Cunningham has shown his abilities as a go-to performer while also helping put his teammates in the best possible position to succeed.
He can score 25 points against the Utah Jazz and then come back the next game and try to find places for Isaiah Stewart to thrive. He is the entire hub of the offense without having to be the top scorer on any given night. Cunningham is truly special, but the man in front of him on this list has not given him any room to catch up.
Week 14 NBA Rookie Ladder: 1. Evan Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers
15.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 blocks
Shooting splits: .511/.309/.688
As is the case every week, Evan Mobley is a transformational force for the Cleveland Cavaliers. This week, he decided to take it up a notch, grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds in a win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Mobley has changed the destiny for the Cleveland Cavaliers as the trade deadline approaches. He has allowed them to explore their current destiny while still being a rookie. He is that level of impactful already, with the room to grow almost immeasurable. We are all along for the ride that he is taking us on towards the award at the end of the schedule.
