Why George Hill is the ultimate glue guy for the Bucks: Familiar face

In 1978, Peaches & Herb shot to the top of the charts with their smash hit Reunited. The idea behind the song is that estranged lovers finally swallowed their pride and came back together after a prolonged absence.

With their misunderstandings resolved and their disagreements now seen as water under the bridge, things were better than ever.

This offseason, George Hill and the Milwaukee Bucks decided to reunite. Hill was a valuable part of the rotation in the 2019 and 2020 seasons, respectively. Each of those years, the team amassed the best regular-season record in the league.

Unfortunately, their dreams of winning a championship came apart in the second half of game four of the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals. Instead of taking advantage of their fourth-quarter lead and going ahead three games to one, they allowed the Toronto Raptors to even the series. They would go on to lose in six games.

Hill spent parts of last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Philadelphia 76ers. Neither of those teams possessed the experience necessary to close out a tough playoff series and compete for a championship. This year, he joined a roster that has proven they can overcome adversity on the game’s biggest stage.

Many of the guys on the team were on the roster when Milwaukee played in the Orlando Bubble back in 2020. In Game 4 of the Conference semi-finals, Giannis Antetokounmpo went down in the first half with an injury.

It appeared the Bucks were destined to lose the game, and the series, to the Miami Heat, considering they were already down three games to none. However, Hill and Khris Middleton led the team on a rally that resulted in an overtime victory and the continuation of their season.

Milwaukee knows how Hill responds in tough situations. That’s why each side is happy that they’re back together.
