Veteran point guard George Hill is the perfect locker room presence for the Milwaukee Bucks.
In the world of professional basketball, the phrase “glue guy” is often oversaturated. The term was originally designated for players whose overall contributions to the team could not be accurately measured with traditional statistics.
While this was initially meant to apply to guys with valuable playing time, the phrase has now been inaccurately applied to guys whose contributions read “DNP Coach’s decision” on a nightly basis.
George Hill is playing for the Milwaukee Bucks for the second time in his career. The team is happy to have him back in the fold.
This is not the case with George Hill. At the age of 35 and in his fourteenth NBA season, the wily veteran is still playing valuable minutes. Furthermore, his team, the Milwaukee Bucks, is once again one of the favorites to emerge from the Eastern Conference and make it to the NBA Finals.
Head Coach Mike Budenholzer and superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo both welcomed Hill back into the fold with open arms after his one year absence from the team. So far, the idea to bring him back has proven to be the right move.
The Milwaukee Bucks are fresh off of their first NBA championship in 50 years. Their best player is once again playing at an MVP level and their other two All-Stars appear to be peaking at just the right time.
This team is poised to make another deep playoff this season. Let’s take a closer look at how George Hill’s leadership will help them along the way.
