NBA Trades: 3 Harrison Barnes trades to help reset the Kings
By Jack Simone
The Sacramento Kings have been bad this season, and it’s looking like their 15-year playoff drought will extend to 16 by the time the year is over.
Due to this, recent NBA rumors have reported that they are going to put the majority of their core rotation players on the trade block. This includes the likes of Buddy Hield, Richaun Holmes, and Harrison Barnes.
Barnes might be the most intriguing of the bunch, as he brings a lot to the table. He’s a versatile, two-way wing who also shoots around 40 percent from behind the three-point line.
He’s going to be the focus of this article. What are three NBA trades that would see Barnes shipped off to another team ahead of the February 10 trade deadline?
NBA Trades: 3 Harrison Barnes trades to help reset the Kings – Philadelphia 76ers
76ers receive: Harrison Barnes, De’Aaron Fox
Kings receive: Ben Simmons, Furkan Korkmaz, Isaiah Joe
This is the one trade that’s going to come up time and time again. Ben Simmons and the Sacramento Kings have been connected for a while, and the trade just makes sense.
The Philadelphia 76ers would get a young star in De’Aaron Fox and a quality starter in Harrison Barnes. That’s an ideal package for their currently absent star.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings would get a new franchise centerpiece to put alongside Tyrese Haliburton. Simmons is a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate who could help set a standard in Sactown.
Daryl Morey even came out and said that there are trades with the Kings that “would work” this week. Tampering? Maybe. Is this a solid trade for both sides? Absolutely.
