NBA Trades: 2 blockbuster Jayson Tatum trades to shake up the Celtics – Atlanta Hawks

Hawks receive: Jayson Tatum, Josh Richardson

Celtics receive: John Collins, De’Andre Hunter, Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2024 First-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick

Again, any trade that has Jayson Tatum in it is going to be absolutely crazy, and this one is no different. Tatum would be shipped to the Atlanta Hawks while the Boston Celtics would prioritize depth.

The obvious idea for the Hawks here would be to pair Trae Young with Tatum. That would instantly create a duo of two guys destined to be top-ten players in the NBA.

Even at this current moment, there aren’t many players around the league better than those two. It would easily be one of the best duos in the NBA.

As for the Celtics, they would completely reshape what their team looks like. Just like with the Kings trade, they would be building around Brown and putting ample depth around him.

John Collins would give them a great stretch four to work with, and one that could play seamlessly alongside Robert Williams. He’s been having an amazing season this year.

De’Andre Hunter, when healthy, projects to be an elite 3&D guy, Kevin Huerter has the potential to be an absolute sharpshooter, and Bogdan Bogdanovic can be a great third scoring option.

This trade would be all about depth for the Celtics. Their starting lineup would look something like Marcus Smart, Brown, Hunter, Collins, and Robert Williams. They’d then have Huerter, Bogdanovic, Al Horford, Grant Williams, and others coming off the bench.

It’s important to continuously state this – Jayson Tatum is not getting traded. Not this season, not next season, and not the one after that. But it’s always fun to think up NBA trades. Why not?
