NBA Trades: 3 Donovan Mitchell trades to send him to a bigger market – New York Knicks

Knicks receive: Donovan Mitchell

Jazz receive: RJ Barrett, Evan Fournier, Alec Burks, 2024 First-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick

This would be the second trade destination listed by Sylvander. There aren’t many bigger markets around the NBA right now than New York. That’s why they call it the Mecca.

New York would finally get the superstar they’ve been waiting for ever since Carmelo Anthony left. Donovan Mitchell and Julius Randle would form an All-Star duo on the Knicks.

Mitchell isn’t exactly a point guard, but he would obviously handle most of the Knicks’ ball-handling responsibilities. That way, Randle would be able to thrive off the ball.

Giving up RJ Barrett would probably hurt since he’s so young and full of potential. That being said, Mitchell is already a proven All-Star and would be able to lead them to the playoffs for many years to come.

As for Utah, they’d be getting three rotational pieces to play with, Barrett being the best one, obviously. Barrett, as mentioned, still has a ton of potential to grow.

Playing with the Jazz would be a very different experience, but if they allow him room to grow, he could turn into something special. He projects to be an elite 3&D threat.

Both Evan Fournier and Alec Burks are quality players, too. They would be able to help the Jazz win now, while Barrett would help them prepare for the future.
