The Utah Jazz have been one of the most consistent solid teams in the NBA for years. They are currently a top-four team in the West and project to be a quality playoff team.
But not everything is all sunshine and butterflies in Salt Lake City.
Recently, rumors came out that Donovan Mitchell may not be satisfied playing in a small market. Supposedly, market size matters to him, which should be a bit worrying for Jazz fans.
In addition, Mitchell recently liked a tweet that could be throwing shade at teammate Rudy Gobert. While this could very well be a joke, those sorts of things are often blown out of proportion in the NBA.
While trading Mitchell is extremely improbable, why not cook up some ideas anyways? What are three NBA trades the Jazz could do that would ship Donovan Mitchell to a big market?
NBA Trades: 3 Donovan Mitchell trades to send him to a bigger market – Philadelphia 76ers
76ers receive: Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles
Jazz receive: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris
Obviously, not many of these trades are going to be realistic. They would only come into play if Donovan Mitchell officially requested a trade, and even then it’d be tough to find an even deal.
This trade could work out for both sides, though. The Utah Jazz would put together an elite defensive team, but would definitely be missing a top-tier shot-creator to help them in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the 76ers would put an elite shot-creator next to Joel Embiid. They’d also get two quality depth pieces to help them win right now, too.
Would the Jazz thrive on defense with this team? Yes. Would they run into offensive issues as well? Most certainly. Regardless, this would be an intriguing idea if Mitchell wanted out.
