Atlantic Division NBA Trades: Brooklyn Nets – Garrett Temple

The Brooklyn Nets do not exactly need to make a trade, and it would be challenging for them to do so in the first place due to their shortage of assets. Regardless, if they are looking to do something before the deadline, a low-risk trade for someone like Garrett Temple would be reasonable.

Temple, who recently played with the Nets during the 2019-20 season, has been a solid two-way player throughout his career. He is averaging a respectable 6.2 points per game while hitting 35.8 percent of his three-pointers to go along with some solid defense this season.

Adding Temple would give the Nets another rotation player that they can throw at opposing wings defensively, which could surely be useful in a potential playoff scenario if they run into Jayson Tatum or Jimmy Butler. He is not the flashiest name, but Temple would help bulk up the rotation, particularly on the defensive end.

The 35-year-old is making $4.9 million this season, meaning it would not take much for the Nets to bring him aboard from a financial perspective, and they could likely persuade the struggling New Orleans Pelicans to deal him.

Ultimately, the Nets do not need to make a move like this as they are arguably the title favorites when everyone is healthy, but it would not be the worst idea to add a familiar face like Temple as insurance.
