The Chicago Bulls are one of the best teams in the NBA this season. Their rise from the bottom of the East to the top has been one of the most entertaining storylines of the season.

DeMar DeRozan’s MVP case, Alex Caruso’s emergence as an All-Defensive team player, and Zach LaVine’s ever-efficient shot-making. Everything about Chicago screams entertainment.

That being said, they, like every other team in the league, are expected to be active around the trade deadline. While Patrick Williams is supposedly not available, a different young Bull is expected to be thrown around in trade ideas.

NBA Rumors: Bulls making Coby White available in the right trade

According to Hoops Hype, third-year guard Coby White will be made available for the right price. With the Bulls getting ready to contend for an NBA championship, priority will likely be placed on win-now pieces.

White had shoulder surgery during the offseason and returned to play back on November 15. Since then, he’s been putting together a fairly productive junior season in the league.

He’s averaging 11.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point range.

This success comes after somewhat of a breakout year last season that saw White play over 30 minutes a night for Chicago. He averaged 15.1 points and 4.8 assists.

The soon-to-be 22-year-old is still getting a decent amount of opportunities in Chicago, averaging just under 25 minutes a night. However, in a new city, he’d likely be given even more room to thrive.

Should the Chicago Bulls target Harrison Barnes and/or Jerami Grant in a trade involving Coby White?

While Hoops Hype didn’t report any specific teams showing interest in White, they did mention a couple of teams the Bulls should reach out to. These teams included the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons.

The two names brought up as suggestions on those teams were Jerami Grant and Harrison Barnes. Chicago has been a bit thin at the power forward position this season.

With Williams going down early in the year with a wrist injury, the Bulls have been starting primarily Javonte Green at that position. While he’s played well, both Grant and Barnes would be a clear upgrade.

Coby White is a former seventh overall pick and clearly has a ton of potential. A bunch of young, up-and-coming teams will likely show interest based on these NBA rumors, it’s just a matter of where he ends up if he’s traded.
