NBA Trades: Tyrese Haliburton trades to help the Kings win now – Domantas Sabonis

Kings receive: Domantas Sabonis, Torrey Craig, Justin Holiday

Pacers receive: Tyrese Haliburton, Marvin Bagley III, Tristan Thompson, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick

The Indiana Pacers have reportedly opened their doors to trades. The Kings should pounce on this opportunity and snag Domantas Sabonis to pair with De’Aaron Fox.

Sabonis is putting up great numbers this year, although the Pacers are severely underperforming. He’s averaging 19.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists a night while shooting 58.6 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from deep.

His playmaking from the post would give them a huge boost, as would his scoring ability and rebounding. Sabonis just makes sense in this Sacramento lineup.

If they got this deal done, their starting lineup would look like Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Sabonis, and Richaun Holmes. That’s a major upgrade.

Meanwhile, the Pacers would be prepping for a full-on rebuild around Tyrese Haliburton. They could trade Malcolm Brogdon this offseason and get even more young assets to further that process.

Indiana would also be taking a chance on Marvin Bagley III and getting multiple picks in the deal. That’s a great way to start hitting the reset button.

The Kings would get one step closer to the playoffs while Indiana starts to rebuild. Those are the directions each team should look to start going in right now, and this deal accomplishes that.
