If you are a hardcore basketball fan like I am, you likely have played the NBA 2K series at least once in your lifetime, while the series may not be as great as it used to be, it still has its fun moments.

However, a highlight during every single rotation of a 2K game is the discourse that occurs when a roster update is released and player overalls are changed. While some player overalls make sense and are perfect for the player, some just defy logic.

There has not been a roster update in well over a month now, which does not make sense since 2K usually drops their roster updates every 2-3 weeks. Some players are in desperate need of a change in overall.

5 NBA 2K22 player overalls that do not make any sense: Fred Vanvleet – 83 OVR

While browsing the NBA2K22 roster menu I stumbled across the Toronto Raptors, and my goodness how is Fred Vanvleet only an 83 overall? (Keep in mind, Vanvleet is not the only Raptor with an illogical overall)

On the season, Fred Vanvleet is averaging 22.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 6.7 APG, and 1.6 SPG, on 44.2 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three-point range.

These numbers are enough to argue that Fred Vanvleet should be higher than an 82 overall, however, when you look at his most recent games, it simply defies logic that Vanvleet is not a higher overall.

In Vanvleet’s last 10 games, he has averaged 28.6 PPG, 7.3 APG to 1.3 TOPG, 4.7 RPG, and 2.0 SPG, on 46.8 percent from the field and 44.5 percent from 3 point range. These numbers are absolutely absurd, which makes the fact that he is only an 83 overall even worse.

Something that makes this overall look horrific is when you look at some of the players who are rated higher than him:

  • Kristaps Porzingis: 85 OVR
  • Mike Conley: 84 OVR
  • John Collins: 84 OVR
  • Tobias Harris: 85 OVR

These are just a few of the players who are somehow rated higher than Vanvleet, who has made a name as one of the most underrated players in the NBA the last few seasons. It is painful to see 2K disrespect the possible All-Star.
