Each franchise worst player to have their jersey retired, Sacramento Kings: Vlade Divac

Stats: 11.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.2 bpg

Not only are we incredulous to Vlade Divac having his jersey retired by the Sacramento Kings, but we also find it hard to believe that he has a permanent spot in the Hall of Fame. While we would love to focus on the latter, that wouldn’t be the point of this article.

Throughout his time as a Sacramento King, Divac had solid but not overwhelming numbers. He averaged 11.4 points, 7.8 boards, and 1.2 blocks in six seasons.

Despite his enormous size and silky-smooth skills, Divac was never the sort of player where you could dump the ball into his lap and ask him to score the ball early and often. Instead, Divac was more of a distributor. The big man did average a shade under four assists per game and quite frankly, he’s considered one of the best shooting big men of all time.

Still, while we laud his passing skills and under-the-radar passing ability, his numbers can’t compare to the likes of Oscar Robertson, Chris Webber, and others who have their jerseys sitting in the rafters.
