NBA: The worst player from each franchise to have their jersey retired
Each franchise worst player to have their jersey retired, Phoenix Suns: Dan Majerle
Stats: 13.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 3.1 apg
The NBA record books are littered with award winners from the Phoenix Suns. Steve Nash, Charles Barkley, and Kevin Johnson have three collective MVPs, a Most Improved Player award, and 13 All-Star selections. Not bad for the trio who have their jerseys retired with the Suns franchise.
Phoenix has a long list of players who contributed in a huge way. But, in our opinion, the one player who should be viewed as the worst amongst them is Dan Majerle.
All in all, Majerle was beloved by the fanbase like no other and he was a three-time All-Star. But, more than anything, he was an energetic defender and decent scorer but he wasn’t a game-changer. He wasn’t a player that could lead a team to a championship. Although he should be considered one of the Suns greatest players of all time, he’s at the bottom of the barrel when we compare him to the other players who have their jerseys retired.
