The Boston Celtics have been a mess this season. They can’t get above .500, and right now, it looks as though they could struggle to even make the play-in.
They have dealt with plenty of injuries, but even when healthy they can’t seem to put two and two together. Just the other night they blew a 25-point lead to the New York Knicks.
That loss was on the second night of a back-to-back, too. On the first night, they lost a heartbreaker to a San Antonio Spurs team that has been fairly underwhelming this year.
While having two young All-Stars on the team is ideal, with almost two years of .500 basketball under their belt, it might be time to admit something isn’t working.
NBA Trades: 3 blockbuster Jaylen Brown trades to fix the Celtics
Before taking drastic measures, the team should look to change things around their two stars – Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. But at what point do they have to consider taking drastic measures?
Their two stars are young, but they won’t be young forever. This team should be better than .500, but the harsh reality is that they aren’t, and it doesn’t look like they will be.
Both Tatum and Brown have a ton of value, just as any All-Star under the age of 26 does. But with Tatum clearly showing more promise, there’s one clear, unfortunate reality Brad Stevens may have to think about.
It might be time to consider trading Brown.
What are some NBA trades the Boston Celtics could get done to move Jaylen Brown? If a shake-up is needed, where could they ship him off to?
