NBA Trades: 6 blockbuster Bradley Beal trades for the Wizards to rebuild – New York Knicks

If there is a star available on the market, the New York Knicks are likely to always be entering themselves into the conversation. After committing a contract extension to Julius Randle last offseason, the Knicks clearly thought they were closer to contention than they ended up being.

If winning now is the choice, moving on from their prized young player for an established star could be the move.

RJ Barrett has taken a slight step back this season but showed enough last season to be the kind of prospect a team builds around. He had a solid scoring touch while effectively rebounding for his position. If he can get back to the 40.1 percent he shot from distance a season ago this would be a great addition.

Obi Toppin has won the hearts of plenty of Knicks fans for his potential. While he would likely be stuck on the bench behind Rui Hachimura, the Wizards have shown this season that having explosive depth off the bench could do wonders for the team. He is already scoring well in extremely limited minutes, which bodes well for increased opportunity.

Ideally, Evan Fournier would be able to be spun into a third team willing to take a chance on him again. He is having his worst season as a full-time starter yet, allowing the Knicks to use his contract for the exact reason they signed him.
