Will Isaiah Thomas finally stick with the Dallas Mavericks?
By Rob Greene
Isaiah Thomas has had to grind his way to get another chance in the NBA
The climb back has been difficult for Thomas, but the selfless individual he is knows to stay prepared at all times.
"“It’s been tough at times just because I don’t see why I’m not in the league, like, I showed that I’m healthy, I showed that I’m the same player that I was before,” the Tacoma native said."
The two-time All-Star clearly has not put his head down once through it all because of the love for the game.
"“At the same time, I continue to have faith, I’m staying positive, I’m doing everything I can control to showcase myself and show that I got no ego, I got no pride, I’ll play anywhere,” he said. “As people know, shoot, I play at local YMCA’s, I play at LA Fitness’s, so, G-League and playing on Team USA, obviously I’m grateful for the opportunity but it is no different. Like, I love basketball, I love to hoop and that is what I’m here to do.”"
With all Thomas has been through in his illustrious career, the mindset is no different than it has ever been.
"“I know I can help a lot of the contending teams for sure, but, you know, it’s not my decision at all. Hopefully somebody makes the right decision, I promise you I’ll make them look like a genius.”"
