Will Isaiah Thomas finally stick with the Dallas Mavericks?
By Rob Greene
Isaiah Thomas was welcomed back with cheers and a standing ovation from basketball fans at Target Center as he jolted off the bench while undressing in his first game with the Lakers just two weeks ago.
Soon to be 33, Thomas had a perfect debut, leading LA in scoring with 19 in 21 minutes in the blowout loss at Minnesota. He answered the next call, starting and delivering 13 in Chicago prior to fading to only two makes in his next 16 shots.
The Lakers decided they would not give him another deal, so the question remained: Is there a home out there for IT?
Can Isaiah Thomas finally find a new home with the Dallas Mavericks?
"“I just know I can help. I know I can impact an organization each and every day. whether I’m playing, scoring, playmaking, or whether I’m helping a young guy with my experience. Like, I’ve been in every situation possible in the NBA, whether it’s a franchise player, the 60th pick, a guy that gets DNP’s, so I’ve seen a lot and experienced a lot and I know I can help.” – Thomas on ESPN’s Jalen and Jacoby Dec. 16."
Thomas had a workout with the Mavs last season, but it never followed through. Now, Dallas is 16-17 sitting at the eighth spot in the West. They have had nine players enter COVID protocols in December.
This is where Thomas comes in. He signed a 10-day with the team yesterday, playing roughly 13 minutes in his debut with the team.
