NBA Trades: Blockbuster Anthony Davis trades to fix the Lakers – Boston Celtics

Celtics receive: Anthony Davis, Kendrick Nunn, Wayne Ellington

Lakers receive: Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2024 First-Round Pick

Will the two biggest rivals in the game of basketball ever make a blockbuster deal this big? Almost certainly not. That doesn’t mean it isn’t intriguing, though.

This deal would give the Los Angeles Lakers a new look, and potentially a better all-around fit in the starting lineup. They lose out on some star power, but they’re still getting an All-Star in return for Davis.

Jaylen Brown made his first All-Star team last year, and amidst Boston’s struggles, some have questioned whether or not he and Jayson Tatum can co-exist. This would silence those questions.

Los Angeles would get another shot creator and an elite catch-and-shoot guy who can also defend at a high level. Plus, they’d still have a starting-caliber center.

Al Horford has had a phenomenal season for the Celtics so far. He’s nowhere near the player that Davis is, but he’s still a well-above-average big man.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics would be shaking things up, too. They’d put Davis next to Jayson Tatum, forming one of the best duos in the league.

The starting lineups for each team would look like this:

Lakers: Westbrook, Bradley, Brown, James, Horford

Celtics: Schroder, Smart, Tatum, Davis, Williams

Imagine watching those two teams go at it in a seven-game series.
