NBA Trades: Blockbuster Anthony Davis trades to fix the Lakers – Sacramento Kings

Kings receive: Anthony Davis, Kendrick Nunn, DeAndre Jordan

Lakers receive: Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2024 First-Round Pick, 2023 First-Round Pick (Swap), 2025 First-Round Pick (Swap)

Obviously, in terms of star value, the Los Angeles Lakers are getting the worse end of this deal. However, when looking at the bigger picture, this could be better for the team than at first glance.

They would be getting three starting-quality players back. Each of them would start in Los Angeles, completing the starting five around LeBron James.

Buddy Hield is an elite three-point shooter, and might just be the best pure catch-and-shoot guy James has ever played with. If not the best, he’d certainly be towards the top of the list.

Harrison Barnes is a savvy veteran who does everything well. He’s the exact type of player James should want by his side in the pursuit of a championship.

Lastly, Richaun Holmes is having a monster season. He would be able to take over the center position and thrive next to two elite playmakers in James and Russell Westbrook.

For the Sacramento Kings, this is a no-brainer. They’d put a top-15 NBA player alongside De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. Davis should be able to help them end their playoff drought.

Both sides could end up benefitting from this deal. Maybe all the Lakers need is depth, rather than the star power they currently possess.
